Goal of the training
The trading of biomethane is of crucial importance to ensure that the product gets the best value in the market. During the ISCC EU Biomethane Traders training– which shall take place in English - we focus on the stage after the production of Biomethane. Participants go home with the essentials for biomethane traders about ISCC EU requirements; to act compliant and to know what the standard practices are.

This training is for parties that are active in environmental commodities and wholesale trading. It is for parties that want to make themselves familiar with sustainability schemes like the globally leading ISCC EU and who want to make further professionalization. This training is also suitable for business development specialists or commercial experts who have a link with the procurement, trading and sales side of biomethane and bio-LNG. Also worth noting; this training meets the requirements to follow relevant training in accordance with the ISCC audit criteria.
Content of the training
Brief overview of the ISCC system, supply chain ins and outs, supply chain optimizations, GHG insights (TDV, DDV and AV), principles of trading and hedging, best and common practices, moving from EU RED II to EU RED III – what will be changing, carbon steered systems and short case studies.

Roland Kok
Roland Kok, owner of Route to Market, has been a key figure in the energy sector since 2010. His experience includes project development at RWE Generation, where he contributed to steam infrastructures and coal, biomass power generation, and CCS projects. Roland played a crucial role in establishing Essent as the first global entity to trade green gas under ISCC EU regulations.
From 2017 to 2021, he led Power Purchase Agreements and portfolio management at innogy Renewables and RWE Renewables. Until October 2022, Roland served as Managing Director at Renewable Energy Services, focusing on B2B green gas solutions certified by ISCC EU for wholesale customers and energy companies across Europe.
